The images are not showing properly. It seems that they are blurred.
The images are not included in the theme. You have to upload your own images. If you want to use the same images as in the demo, please go in the footer to the credits page. There you can find links to the original images.

After installation I have the following message on the top and bottom of my default page (Page / Default content type), instead of the main and footer menu: This block is broken or missing. You may be missing content or you might need to enable the original module.
This means that your block for header/footer is not created but referred in the views. You have to create the missing header & footer block on your own in the backend:
Create the missing header & footer block on your own in the backend. (Please login with your admin account under /user)
Go to: /admin/structure/block/block-content
Create two blocks (Type: Main Footer & Main Navigation)
Go to: /admin/structure/block
Remove the two existing footer & navigation blocks (which your error says they don't exist) and replace them with the two you just created in the step before.
Click 'Save blocks'
Empty all caches (go to: /admin/config/development/performance)
